We were thrilled to welcome the talented, visionary director duo DI-AL to our location house for their stunning and thought-provoking project. Their work beautifully explores the symbolism of flowers as a lens to examine themes of gender, sexuality, and identity.

Our cinematic south studio created the backdrop for their indoor shots where maximalist floral drapes and flowers adorned the space and the beautiful, eclectic cast of models. Every corner of our space was brought to life, including bathtub scenes, the striking red-curtained corridor, and the gritty, urban rooftop.

Reflecting on gender stereotypes, ‘Florescence’ explores the biology and cultural impact of flowers throughout history. “Certain beliefs are so embedded in our thinking that we rarely stop to ask why they exist as they do, and we wanted to bring those questions to the forefront of the conversation,” explains creative duo @dialdirectors (@diego_indraccolo and @alice_0230) who directed and shot the film. “Most importantly, we aimed to make the film engaging and enjoyable rather than preachy, and while we’re aware of its ever-changing tone, we believe it perfectly suits the vibrancy and diversity that flowers offer to us.”
